A Better Product Cannot be Made By The Hand of Man

The quality of this License Plate Clear Cover surprised me; even for a WeatherTech product the build quality, fit and finish were beyond outstanding! You insert your plate into (behind) the cover. Ok so far so good...BUT there is a rubber gasket that perfectly fits to the face of the license plate providing a water-resistant seal. The gasket seems to be of the highest quality butyl or EPDM rubber. It's not just a cheap O-Ring but a full gasket structure worthy of a NASA shuttle door. The cover is made of a top quality clear plastic which appears to be polycarbonate (you know-plexiglass) NOT thin clear styrene. I mean this thing is really thick and crystal clear, perfectly formed. Beyond THAT they sent me a bag of various fasteners which were (and get this!) stainless steel (appeared to be 316 alloy stainless too). I REALLY appreciated THAT as you know how exposed to the weather screw fasteners are; especially on the front of a vehicle. But beyond THAT the plate cover had high-quality plastic screw covers that protected THOSE screws which snapped smartly into place to provide a final finish to the product installation. Any OTHER company would have provided zinc-plated carbon steel screws. Most companies would have used a simple O-ring seal IF any at all. The plate would have been made of flimsy polystyrene by another company - but WeatherTech took this "simple" product and knocked it out of the park! Yet another example of this American company sparing no expense to bring the absolute highest quality item to it's customers. Value is defined as something being worth as much or more than you paid for it. This product is the best example of that concept I have ever purchased. I know my review is pretty over the top but I swear it's my real reaction to this item! Sincerely R. Carey

Clear license plate cover

I purchased one to match the color of my truck in 2021. I got my wife an Acura in '22, and in '23 she got a cover off Amazon. Last month she asked me to take it off because it had turned yellow and nasty dirty. I told her to go look at mine on the truck. She did and said it looked as good now as it did new in 2021. I said exactly. I then went and ordered one to match her paint on the Acura. Yes they are more expensive. But they last and last and last and still look great many years later. Does not pay to buy the cheap crap. Got it delivered by FedX took the cheap one off and put the weather tech one on. What a difference in material used to make it. Great license plate cover. I recommend these for use in 100 degree weather as well. Sun does not harm it.

Now installed on three vehicles - front AND back

I just purchased a new vehicle and added WeatherTech ClearCovers for the license plates front and back. My old car which I transferred to a relative still has the covers from 11 years ago when I bought that car new. And other than just a few of the little plastic caps having disappeared, the old cover still looks very good. My truck has had ClearCover for over 8 years and looks like new. I added the new cover to the new car and the look is outstanding. It certainly is clearer and brighter than the 11 year old one that has been subject to stones gravel and wear and tear but actually that one still looks pretty good. And when I removed the old covers to get at the license plates (to turn them in) the plates were new like the day they were issued. There are a lot of choices to make when buying plate frames but these are the best I've seen and with the assortment of hardware included you can match almost any car's attachment system. I won't have any other.

A great cover! WeatherTech Marketing Does Not Do It Justice

I bought this to replace my 2-year old discount store plate cover that had turned yellow. I chose the WeatherTech as it is Made in the USA and that is important to me. This unit is stout. It is very thick and has a great rubber seal that keeps dirt and water off the plate. I have an "unlimited wash" membership and I wash my car 4-5 days a week due to the salt and dirt where I live and no water has made it into the plate cover. I plan to buy these as gifts for people I know this upcoming holiday season.

Perfect Plate Cover

This one piece frame with a protective lens is an awesome and ingenious product. It is very easy to install and encases the entire license plate. Nothing - rain, melting snow, ice, moisture, road dirt, etc. - can get into it so the license plate stays completely dry and visible. And the "Click and Stay" screw caps keep the plate screws dry so no more dripping rust. It is extremely well made. We live in northern New Hampshire and have already experienced every type of weather and driven on every type of road surface since putting this on our front plate. I plan on getting one for the back. I would most definitely recommend this product.
